Check out this months Surfer Journal. Look on the inside back cover at the Hurley ad! Rad photo right? Ya, that is what I thought too. Well my good friend Keith Novosel snapped that jewel and I just wanted to spread the word. Keith is one of the nicest people I have ever met and has a suitcase full of talent (and right now, that suitcase is touring OZ, and Im jealous!).

Anyways, here is a little video that Captain Fin Co. did of Scotty. He rips, period! To see more of him, pick up a copy of Picaresque...amazing movie! Enjoy!

After a little storm Saturday night, Tinch and I met up with Keith for a little session at Matanzas. Keith had some new trunks from es-cent-ial that he wanted Tinch to test out, so here are the photos that he was able to snap. Always a rad session with these two!

Matansas session

After surfing for five hours today, Keith and I decided we wanted to trade off turns snapping some photos of each other in some freight training shore break. It was really rad, and Keith killed it. Got a sick ten, a bunch of 5's, and just overall really nice sliding... Then we traded. Keith was able to snap some epic photos for 5 minutes...and then the battery died. Ohh well. The good surfer was actually capured doing his thing! I wish Tinch was still there for the photos too, but he had to leave early. Next time Tinch... next time! Anyways, here are the photos, Enjoy!

I drove down to Matansas this morning to meet up with my good buddies Keith Novosel and Tinch to slide the last remaining bump from the swell. What was supposed to be a regular session, soon turned into a full on marathon. We surfed for over five hours. But more on that later.

Ive wanted to surf an Almond board for a long time now. I really love what the guys are doing over there. Super rad stuff that is getting put out. But today was my first time sliding one of their logs... It is Keith's personal log. Its 9'10" and I don't really know the rest of the dimensions, but it is super knifed out, pinched rails, but still with some weight to it. It was really fun to ride. I wish I could have gotten to ride it on a bigger or steeper day because this thing really locks in and just gets into trim really nicely. Great board for sure. Now I can officially say that they work just as well as they look.

THE PRESENT!!!!

Well after a long, long year of waiting, The Present finally came out! Ive been wanting to see this movie so badly. Ive been bugging Chris and Mik at Surf Culture on an almost daily basis waiting to see when a copy is going to come in (and I still am after seeing it).

So, knowing they had a show up in Jacksonville Beach at Landshark Cafe, I tried to round up all my friends and make it a fun night. Tinch and his wife Shelly came along with Dustin Miller, the filmer for Mikey DeTemple's movie Picaresque, and his wife, Keith Novosel, and my good friend Matt. It was a fun time just getting to hang out and enjoy ourselves.

The show was pretty rad too; had Mattson 2 playing live to get everything going, and then just dove straight into the movie. For $8 a ticket, I wish it was in a better venue, but hey, Im not going to complain (no one listens when I do anyways). I was just stoked to be there and see something new and different. The Seedling and Sprout are getting worn out. It was a really good movie. It surprised me a little, but on the whole, amazing! Some of the biggest airs and longest gnarliest tens Ive seen in awhile. I really think T.Moe made a complete surf film that will attract not just sliders, but also the groms that idealize Dane. I cant wait to buy the movie and watch it again. As usual, it had an amazing soundtrack, and like I said earlier, just a crazy good movie.
