Oldest City Productions

My good friend and fellow aquaholic Chris Tincher has started up a blog along with a few of the other local loggers and skaters to bring you a little more insight into St. Augustine.. Check it out. There are some really good videos on it already, not to mention this little gem here of local shaper/artistan Ken White... Enjoy.

Musically Magic

So last night Kevin had a bunch of bands come out to the factory and just let it all hang out for a few hours. It started around 5 and lasted well into the night. Unfortunately I missed most of the jam session, but I was able to capture a few images of the stoke that was in full effect.

Surfing is an art form just like painting, pottery, and music. We all express ourselves in different ways; we might not all surf, and we might not all play music. But the commmon ground between us all is that when we do what we love, we smile, we enjoy life, and we love the moment. And thats what life is about. Enjoy.

Just got back from the HQ of stoke, and Im pretty happy with how Kat's board turned out. Her drawing is rad. In fact, it actually looks like a sticker it is so clean. She is an amazing artist. Anways, without further ramblings... take a peek.

Well Kevin finally got the new factory up and running full speed, and it is way rad. I have so many photos of the wierd, wacky, and incredible liquid slope navigating vehicles that he is about to start putting out. Just check this 5'0" Bonzer-Egg thing that was just finished. Its for one of his good buddies, and man that resin tint is nice. Same color as my truck! Stay tuned, because a lot heart and soul will be coming out of this factory very soon. Ill be sure to keep you updated...

Korduroy.tv is rad

Ive mentioned Korduroy.tv before, but I just want to say again how rad it is. Yesterday I sat down for like an hour and just watched all of the videos. It got me super amped to go surf with the boys and slide some really fun waves. In fact, I didnt get out of the water until I couldn't see a thing.

But check these out, they really are cool. Now just place korduroy.tv under your favorites, watch the updates, and get out there and do it yourself! Cyrus worked hard for this, help him spread the word!

There are plenty more... Just check out Korduroy.tv

Keith Novosel and Scotty Stopnik

Check out this months Surfer Journal. Look on the inside back cover at the Hurley ad! Rad photo right? Ya, that is what I thought too. Well my good friend Keith Novosel snapped that jewel and I just wanted to spread the word. Keith is one of the nicest people I have ever met and has a suitcase full of talent (and right now, that suitcase is touring OZ, and Im jealous!).

Anyways, here is a little video that Captain Fin Co. did of Scotty. He rips, period! To see more of him, pick up a copy of Picaresque...amazing movie! Enjoy!

As promised...

Ok, as I promised earlier, here are a couple snaps of the new shirts. I will have better photos up in the next few days when I can actually get someone wearing them. As of right now though, they are selling for $25, mailed to your address. Drop me an email at, Slidingsinglefins@gmail.com for more information on Trim Glide Fade. I would be more than happy to answer any questions. This is just the first, there will be plenty more coming out over the next few months along with some short movies as well.

Trim Glide Fade is a collab with Chris Tincher and myself. In a nutshell, it's us just being Chris and logging whenever possible. (note to self, find better way of explaing it! ha) Seriously though, it is hard to explain in words... but if you are reading this, then you probably understand us. This is just the beginning, stay tuned though, it is going to be exciting!

Chi mangia bene, vive bene... Eat Pure Bars

"Who eats well, lives well." It's an old Italian proverb. But it still holds as true today, as it did one thousand years ago.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, I'm not the "tree-hugging" type of person who drives a Prius, uses the canvas grocery bags (though I should), and only eats salads. I do believe in picking up after yourself, not littering, and just being smart about the environment in general. But I am still in all honesty going to eat steaks, drive my truck, and slide surf machines of the foam orientation...

But back on track, the other day a good friend of mine was kind enough to send me over a box of Pure food bars. They are entirely organic (USDA and Vegan approved) and are actually not bad tasting. In fact, the Apple Cinnamon bar is fantastic. Throw one in the fridge the night before your dawn patrol and then munch on that that while checking the swell is ideal. I only wish that I had more.

If you are on the left coast, they are found at Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and other big name retailers. If you are like me and on the right side of the country, we have the Food Lion. But you can also purchase them on their website, The Pure Bar or Amazon. They are dairy free, soy free, and gluten free. Read their story on their website, it is very interesting

Check them out, and more importantly, mangia bene!

One Hull of a Story

Well Ive been talking about getting a hull a lot lately. Ever since Keith Novosel mentioned that he was getting one and explained to me how they worked, I have wanted one. So one day while I was hanging out at Surf Culture, Chris, one of the owners, said that he might have one. The very next day he comes walking over and sure enough, he brought the board.

We talked about the history of the board and how it had ended up here. Apparently, one of his friends was driving through Wisconsin and saw a surf board sticking out from under a porch. He stopped and asked to see if he could buy it from the lady and she ended up giving it to him. According to her, her son had wanted to take up surfing, but got drafted for Vietnam. When he returned home, he didnt want to anymore. After a spell with Chris' friend, Chris himself was given the board. There it sat for awhile until now. Chris handed me the board and said, "Take it under two conditions. You dont sell the board, you pass it along. Two, just enjoy it!"

Now I have a board that has been all over...and I cant wait to take it for a spin!Hooray for brown boards!

Es-cent-ial Wetsuits

Ok, I know it is a little early to be talking about wetsuits here in Florida, but... cooler waters are right around the corner. I know that no one likes wearing wetsuits, but lets face it, we have to if we want to slide. So since we have to, why not make it super comfy and stylish? Ohh and did I mention better for the environment?

Well check out Es-cent-ial wetusits. They have amazing stuff, and are really good people. I know I will be picking up several suits from them shortly. They use the new neoprene made from limestone, and they look rad! Check out their website and blog, and support a great company!

Whale Wars

I don't know if anyone else watches this show, but holy cow! Whale Wars documents the goings on of the Japanese whaling fleet in the southern hemisphere. The Steve Irwin, Captain Paul's ship, is part of the non-for-profit organization titled, The Sea Shepard's. They attempt to frustrate the Japanese and get them to stop their so called, "illegal actions." The Sea Shepards state that the law is on their side due to a Whaling Act passed in the late 80's. The Japanese say that the law is on their side, claiming they are doing it for research.

Now Im not an out-and-out green peace type person, but I do believe in respecting what lets us survive (exactly like Patagonia), and I for one love this show. I'm routing for the Sea Shepards, and so should you, WATCH THE SHOW! Its on Animal Planet every Friday at 9.
